ENT and Allergy Specialists Among First in the Greater Philadelphia Region to Offer Innovative In-Office Treatment for Chronic Rhinitis

New Non-Invasive RhinAer® Clinically Demonstrated to Provide Lasting Relief for Patients Suffering from Common but Chronic Nasal Condition

(Philadelphia, PA) – ENT and Allergy Specialists is pleased to announce the availability of RhinAer®, a non-invasive FDA-cleared technology for the in-office treatment of chronic rhinitis that provides lasting symptom relief to patients suffering from this common condition.

On average, ENT physicians see nearly one hundred chronic rhinitis patients in their clinic each month.1 More than 30 million Americans suffer from nonallergic rhinitis and 60 million suffer from allergic rhinitis.2 Common symptoms of chronic rhinitis include persistent runny nose, nasal congestion, post-nasal drip, nasal itching, and sneezing. For many patients, management of this condition with medications and sprays is inadequate, treating only symptoms and not the underlying causes of the condition. Pharmaceutical options for the treatment of chronic rhinitis generally offer only temporary relief, require daily use, and may result in unpleasant side effects.

RhinAer® features a thin, wand-like stylus that is inserted via the nostril. RhinAer® uses patented temperature-controlled radiofrequency technology that delivers precise therapeutic benefits while sparing surrounding tissues from the potentially harmful effects of traditional ablation devices. The RhinAer® procedure directly disrupts the signals that cause excessive mucus production, treating the underlying causes of rhinitis and providing physicians with a comprehensive solution to treat the sources of both runny and stuffy noses. The procedure can be performed with a local anesthetic during a routine office visit, with no incisions or downtime, and minimal discomfort. Patients typically return to normal activity on the same day.*

“Ensuring the highest quality of patient care is our chief concern," stated Laurence V. Cramer, DO, FAOCO. "Chronic rhinitis significantly impacts an individual's quality of life. Until recently, treatment options were restricted, leaving Otolaryngologists (Ear, Nose, and Throat physicians) with limited means to treat this condition effectively. The impressive clinical outcomes and the non-invasive nature of the RhinAer® procedure make it an appealing treatment option for our patients.”

Most patients begin to see improvement between two to six weeks following treatment, with clinical results from a prospective, multi-center pivotal clinical trial of RhinAer® demonstrating meaningful, lasting benefits. On average, patients treated with RhinAer® reported a 58% decrease in chronic rhinitis symptoms at one year post-treatment.3
